When You Throw a Party and Nobody Comes

Summary

The article, "When you throw a party and nobody comes", is about a group, PCTA, who throws parties and no one attends. The group could not understand the lack of attendance. PCTA never once considered their party throwing skills were the problem. The group came up with three possible factors of the lack of attendance. The first being isolation from big population. The second being isolation from big roads. The last factor being isolation from a social scene. With those possible problems the PCTA also came up with possible solutions. The solutions include: hold more parties, more outreach, and send experienced volunteers from other sections of the trail to lead and mentor new local volunteers in isolated areas.

Questions

1. Could the lack of attendance come form the purpose of the parties?
2. Could it just be that the PCTA is bad at hosting parties?

Facts

1. Through the Goat Rocks and William O. Douglas Wilderness, the PCT is in bad shape because of lack of regular volunteers.
2. Some of the most well-loved scenery along the PCT is located in remote areas.
3. Goat Rock is popular for backpacking.
